Mall walkers ascend the escalator near the entrance to a shuttered Sears department store on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, inside Chesterfield Mall. Sears (who is currently owned by the Staenberg Group -the same company that owns Taubman Prestige Outlet Mall in Chesterfield Valley, and who is a front-runner buyer for Chesterfield Mall) won't return. There is an adrenaline rush when shopping.
Standards are starting to slip here with a growing amount of vacant storefronts here, but this is still one of the better malls left in I'm not a huge fan of their food court, however I usually will hit up Cheesecake Factory or has had quite a face lift, and this one has been redone, I don't have to travel so far to get what I need.Like other recent reviewers have noticed, this mall is dying out. Chesterfield Towne Center is the largest enclosed shopping center in the Richmond area.
chesterfield mall 2020 there’s only 2 or 5 stores open as of January. It is currently unknown how many buyers are under consideration and what their intentions are. I say keep it moving in this direction. However when I got here I was shell shocked. Dying is an understatement. The merry go round was lit up but not going and they still had the little train to take the kids on. I know it doesn't sound like much but these things are what makes good use of such a huge space lacking upscale shopping. We couldn't believe how many vacancies there was. I come here a lot for clothes shopping for the family. !There was a trampoline bounce in the mall that was cheap and fun! I would unfortunately not recommend this mall anymoreSecurity is pretty tight for a nearly empty mall!
Don't plan on going here after 8 o'clock on a week day or 6 o'clock on a weekend because this mall is closed. From what I have read, this is happening all across America.AMC Movie Theater is AWESOME! Cheesecake Factory is Amazing! For every actual storefront that was open, it was like walking past 4 or 5 store fronts that were vacant. The Victoria secret is awful not a good selection at all. I ended up at the Premium Outlet mall buying everything I needed at a much lower price. security leads you out of the mall if you just walk. Holy turdsville! But overall wouldn't come to the mall unless I was going to the AMC theater, it was recently redone in the last year or so, it's so nice! It really is a shame.
The only reason for going there would to be the AMC movie theater. This place is on its last thread. I could only thing of scenes from Romero's original Dawn if the Dead film....lifeless people shuffling around deadpan looking at places where stores used to be. This used to be a very nice mall back in the late 90's. It looks like a ghost town. Working up an appetite while you’re safely browsing the mall? This is not a bad thing. Not much going on in the hollowed halls of Chesterfield Mall. (7 pm seems common). It has promise.
It basically is an outdated dinosaur mall. I'm betting on a mixed use development complete with high end residential, retail, restaurants, office space and entertainment. Went to Chesterfield Mall just down the street from hotel. In its own way, the current scene is rather sad. Great movie and meal! But this most egregious is 2) that the city of Chesterfield allowed not one, but TWO outlet malls to be built not only so close together, but relatively close to their existing mall.So sad to see this once active thriving mall reduced to a sad skeleton of what it once was. It also felt that some of the stores were not even running their HVAC systems as it was hot and uncomfortable inside. Ordered off the "Skinnylicious Menu", so under 590 calories at Cheesecake Factory! What a nice place to go for a movie and dinner all under one roof! They’ll have your order ready to take home when you’re finished shopping. 1) I think they added too many nice, expensive stores (like American Girl) too quickly, and many of those have since closed. Don't look! Use to be the most amazing place to go as a middle school kid, not anymore.
