This is a really great movie that I had never heard of when I came across it one late night on a movie channel. I prefer TommyLee Jones as Dave Robicheaux, but James Lee Burke novels can do no wrong!! I have the book and the movie and return to them both often. So this movie is based on understanding the characters and not based on the adaptation of the book since I have not read the book . I like it because of the setting in the bayou, the acting is good and so is the story line. it was everything l expected and more , l await the next film in the series , which l can only hope is in the making The soundtrack is pure heaven.
