Also, the guy my roommate and I most frequently deal with regarding our apartment is generally extremely unpleasant and acts like a quick question about our apartment ruins his day. The walls are actual walls and not glass walls like some of the other cw spaces around PHL, which is nice.…"Gwen's knowledge extends across the Philadelphia and suburban areas. We always pay our rent on time, are quiet, and take great care of the place so I don't think a little courtesy is too much to ask for. But I was lucky that I rented for only one semester because sooner or later, I would have run out of patience. My point person through UCH has been Melissa Schimpf and she has always done a great job at meeting my needs. Every apartment and experience was great. "Been at MO for over a year and been quite happy there (although I wish rent was lower, but still better than comparables).
I have given them so many chances before writing this review but now I hope this can help someone make a decision living in one of their facilities.The rent is cheap, the location of my apartment is great, but UCH has its problems. I cannot wait to get out of this place. Although I can't speak for others' experiences, I do have a hunch that many of the negative reviews on Yelp and other sites are posted by spoiled, entitled Penn students who don't understand the realities of living in old, urban properties such as Victorian conversions and who don't know how to deal with living in a place that needs a little cleaning when you move in.Full Disclosure: I am not now nor have I ever been a UCH tenant. First, our Property Manager does not care about you once you move in. The place looked nice and the location was very convenient. These elegant properties are along some of the most sought after locations in all of University City: 40th and Spruce, 39th and Baltimore, 39th and Pine.

University City Housing Apartment Rental Service. The office staff is very helpful and friendly. I have been renting from UCH for 3 years now. They don't pay any attentions to their residents.
They even charge you for the heater during summer that you don't use. The refrigerator and stove were both rusted beyond cleaning and overall the house looked like sh*t. We take all feedback from our residents seriously and have discussed this review with our management team. I am a professional and she made sure to find me units that were not college student oriented. I have recommended UCH to several friends and they have rented from UCH for several years, as well. I lived in an 8 person home for two years close to Penn's campus and paid $825 for my room.
Crew Factory Outlet.
They just know how to increase their rent and charge you, and by the way, you get charged for the things that they don't always provide, LIKE HEAT when it's cold. Overall UCH is fine, but definitely not the greatest landlord I've ever had.Thank you for bring this to our attention.

University City Housing provides affordable housing located within walking distance to UPenn and Drexel Campuses. I've been renting with UCH for almost three years, and I've been very satisfied--especially with the responsiveness of their maintenance team! The sub floor is so old and is in desperate need of being replaced. All in all, I would avoid anything managed by UCH. I will apply my knowledge, my tools, my sales…I spent three-and-a-half years living in one of their apartments, and it was almost definitely the best experience I had with any landlord/agency.

Although the hipster staff is pleasant enough, sometimes the repair persons are less than helpful and often are destructive toward your apartment. LOOK Elsewhere!
