Absolute gem of welsh cultural history, amazing indoor displays and great outdoor exhibits to walk round, free entry so you can’t go wrong, the castle and gardens are amazing and dogs are permitted... you can always find something interesting to do and look at St Fagans. Instead, arrive with ease and save your energy for the moderately-difficult hike.

Cardiff’s parks and green spaces make this one of the greenest cities in the UK. A beautiful location with superb walks and excellent opportunities for picnics in lovely surroundings. Pack a picnic and enjoy a sunny afternoon in the park, take a stroll along the Cardiff Docks in the Bay or take a row along the Roath Park Lake.
