Despite this humanity has been trying to follow in the footsteps of the Romans this whole time. By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. Gilmore Girls: Das machen Lorelai, Rory, Sookie und Co. heute . When Holden experiences their history, it even says that it had been so many millions of years since it had even perceived of a threat that it didn't recognize the loss of parts of itself as a threat at first. But perhaps reconciliation is possible.
Self preservation is a much more universal trait then morality.I'm not saying they are necessarily "evil". On the frontier planet Ilus, Dr. Elvi Okoye and The Investigator were the first to encounter an artifact left behind by the force that destroyed the Builder civilization. The Expanse (TV Series 2015– ) cast and crew credits, including actors, actresses, directors, writers and more. The Goths likely only attempted to wipe out the direct threat to themselves but made the effort to preserve lower life forms in each of the systems. All other flairs only describe the scope of discussion content and should always have spoilers in comments tagged unless OP specifically states otherwise in the title. The romans were actually the protomolecule buolders and the goths are the thimgs that killed them. Goths strike back when they are capable which seems to correspond with very large energy outputs (Magnetar fires main weapon, Star goes Supernova, too much energy builds up within a ring, etc.)
Then parts of them started to transcend even that. The historic Goths were successful in breaching the capital of the roman empire; the "PM-Goths" took out the PM builders. What if interacting with it accidentally triggers a reboot of the entire Roman network. Romans are the Protomolecule builders and Goths are their destroyers. Weitere Bildergalerien "Und was guckst du so?" If not, then they’re doomed.PS: I wonder what a show-only watcher would think of your title. The goths won't be able to use their mind-killing weapons on humans so they will send their "ships" to do the job. It's not a stretch to expect the Goths to believe we have bad intentions too.Just as likely, the Goths don't have an ethics that we would recognize, but find it costly to intervene in our dimensions. They invervene in our dimensions with the means they've become particularly efficient with, such as manipulating the vacumn energy or cognitive/logical viruses, but they they aren't indisposed to genocide if the gnats from 4-space get too annoying.Imagine if you're a mosquito attempting to fathom the motivations of humans with their nets, bug-zappers, pesticides and genetically engineering sterile brethren. Maybe all we have to do is find a way to explain to the Goths that we're actually a totally new group of conscious individuals, and not just old remnant Roman tech flickering off and on. Life on all of the Roman's planets remained intact. And then through their technology they became a galaxy spanning, technology based hive mind. In the Gothic language, the Goths were called the *Gut-þiuda "Gothic people" or *Gutans (Goth).
Unless my theories about Duarte turn out to be correct...I agree benevolent is probably a stretch given these are beings on a level so far ahead of us that we can't begin to understand them. What if it simply misunderstood what was happening to it. Quantum consciousness theories, like Orchestrated Objective Reduction, suggest that our brains use quantum resonance and non-local communication within and between micro-tubules inside neurons in the brain (Proto-Miller: "Oh, so you wanna talk about the non-local quantum hologram, the phase-conjugate adaptive waves resonating in micro-tubules in the brain..."). This would make the Romans the aggressors in my opinion. The tech communicates using normal means (IE: within bounds of locality) at light-speed to initiate a 'handshake' to reactivate the dormant tech, and once a handshake is established, instantaneous communication proceeds via non-locality (shown in Elvi's catalyst experiment with Adro diamond).-The rings and ring station seem unaffected by the Goth weapon, and in CB, Miller states that while Ilus was a power station for the Roman's civilization (possibly instantly beaming that energy to other systems via non-local tech), but that the rings and ring station got their power from somewhere else that he was as yet unaware of.-The Romans were a hive mind, possibly technology-hosted consciousness. One of the themes continually revisited in the books is that people keep misinterpreting events and reacting to those misinterpretations and the results are often violence, and when our heroes manage to save lives it's because they manage to get through to people about reinterpreting what's really happening and trying something different.
That may be how the Goths view the civilizations from 4-space.Yeah maybe Holden in book 9 somehow meets the Goths and helps work out a deal to keep humanity from being wiped out. It’s helpful and accurate this is just curiosity on my part.Edit: my post text is 100% wrong. Exceed the energy allowance and they would dutchman the ship. Tote Mädchen lügen nicht: 10 Fakten, die du noch nicht kanntest. If ring transit is truly bothersome to the Goths, there is no way the Romans were willing to maintain the tit-for-tat bargain.
