Kicking off both the spring and fall seasons is the twice-a-year Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival & Restaurant Week, a neighborhood-wide celebration devoted to showcasing local restaurants, food vendors and the bountiful harvest. The spring edition is slated for Sunday, April 14.MANAYUNK — The Spring StrEAT Food Festival will return to Manayunk Sunday, April 14, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with more than 70 different food vendors along Main Street to kick off Manayunk Restaurant Week, which will run from Monday, April 15, to Friday, April 26.Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic for this rain or shine event, giving visitors of all ages an opportunity to stroll through this neighborhood and indulge in some of the finest food truck cuisine in the area.From savory tacos and pizza to sweet ice cream and cannolis, this festival has something for everyone to eat.Vendors who create a berry dish will participate in a contest where three of the area’s foodies will be judging.In addition to food trucks, visitors can enjoy live music playing throughout the festival at Shurs Lane and Green Lane.“The food truck scene is constantly evolving, and Manayunk is always excited to be the first to showcase the latest and greatest each spring at the StrEAT Food Festival,” said Jane Lipton, executive director of the Manayunk Development Corp. “The neighborhood is bustling with resident families and visitors who all come to Main Street to try the tasty food the tri-state area has to offer.“We’re also excited to showcase our great restaurants during the Spring Restaurant Week,” Lipton added.
