This progressive style of house that came out of the post trance scene and is on show par excellence on this CD was never topped for me, not even by Sasha's fantastic various albums or other Holden efforts.

OK, so I have only heard the first cd so far, and only heard it once, but all I can say is "wow !"

2 × quite simply one of best electronic mix albums I've listened to. Something about this set sounds too electronic, not warm enough, almost plasticy -- is that a word.
Speaking of Petter, "All Together" is the highlight of CD1 and the whole compilation, followed by the fluffy mix of Nathan Fake's "outhouse" which is SO incredibly trippy, i can't get enough of it. I got to agree, this is one of the best mixes I have heard as far as taking you on a Journey, but enough common ground so most people will like it, but it get's really deep at times. Balance 005 Please try again. I read the reviews here and was kind of hesitant about it and generally excited too. Showcasing his vast taste for left of center material matched with dance-floor sensibilities, James has compiled an eclectic mix of house, techno, melodies, and ambient moments, all fused with a progressive attitude, that will definitely capture the attention and imagination of clubbers and music connoisseurs alike.

My personal opinion is that CD1 is one of the BEST mixes that exist to date in the world, and if it were a one disc release, Balance 005 would have certainly earned 5 stars from me. My god this CD is evocative for me of an era of house music I was obsessed with. James has, as other reviewers have already pointed out, created an amazing mix with this release.

Scratched the heck out of it, and disc 1 won't play well any more. I think I can say, without fear or retraction, that this is going to up there in my top ten ever dance mixes. New copies (a reissue?) Bought this CD a few years ago when it first came out.
