Weaver provides an incredibly real presentation of a high functioning, verbal autistic adult. Simple, well scripted, brilliantly acted story, especially from Alan Rickman and Sigourney Weaver. Although there is a mostly Canadian 'feel' to the film, it is also a very British in terms of how it deals with the emotions unleashed by a series of traumatic events that occur in (Rickman's) Alex's life and which, unpredictably and lovingly and largely resolved for him by the end of the film. It really is very good and I learnt a lit bit more about autism.
