The Parkway school district is a great district but due to changes in the upper management there was a shift to the worse. There is not a push for kids to reach for challenging colleges...instead there seems to be a push to maintain a level to graduate and continue on to MO based colleges and universities.There are teachers who genuinely care for you and want you to thrive. Throughout my high school career I’ve found that when it comes to student complaints and reviews, the school has a hard time compromising to solve any problems.I go to Parkway South and it’s a really great school with a lot of different classes for all interests. I’ve also had several teachers that I found to be particularly enlightening in the classroom and who had genuine care for their students learning. Overall, West is a great school and I have made memories and met people here that I will remember for a lifetime.I am referring to the high school in this review. There is also a lot of options and they provide areas in which you can specifically thrive.My experience at Parkway West high school was great. They offer a lot of higher level classes and scholarly opportunities to challenge students and I feel I’ve benefited greatly from these opportunities. Overall Parkway School District is a great district! This year, Parkway C-2 dropped 1 slots in our statewide ranking, and ranks better than 93.4% districts in Missouri. The district is changing the needs to fit every student by changing the curriculum to be more diverse and inclusive.The parkway school district has been an awesome district for me to be apart of. The school itself has a lot of opportunities for students, offering dual credit for certain classes, AP classes, the spark program, the South Tech program, and more. While I have yet to officially leave my school and go off to college, I have heard from both my siblings that Parkway had done a great job in preparing them for college courses. The teachers were flexible and understanding of student's situations and people were always willing to help if you needed it. There are also lots of opportunities for activities and clubs after school, the sports teams are all relatively competitive. I think the middle schools are somewhat of a "floating" time and that there is a lack of homework and an easy work schedule that does not prepare children well for HS. Even then, I was a able to switch out of her class and I wasn’t forced to be stuck with her for a whole semester. About the GreatSchools rating We absolutely love the community and atmosphere in this school - the teachers and administrators do an outstanding job and parents are very involved. The kids who also go here are great, they are welcoming and open to making new friends and doing new things; As a kid myself I can vouch for this! The Parkway community is absolutely amazing and the educational system holds high expectations for its stellar students.I love parkway because of the family aspect. Bathrooms are never clean. According to state test scores, 61% of students are at least proficient in math and 65% in reading. Parkway's demographics are relatively diverse and the district aspires to meet the needs of all members of its community by making sure they offer teacher training and inservices. Comments (-1) Two Central High students selected as college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship winners I loved being part of the cross country, track and soccer team and how the parkway community took pride in their sports. The teachers and staff are top-notch. Please Parkway is a diverse school with a lot of opportunity.
